MARINE AIR GROUND TASK FORCE (MAGTF) PLANS

The MAGTF plans OccFld encompasses the management of Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) in support of Joint and MAGTF operations plans, and advising Joint and MAGTF staff plans officers on Joint and Marine Corps Force Deployment Planning and Execution (FDP&E) matters in the deliberate, time-sensitive, and crisis planning environments.

This includes identification of force requirements, the refinement of force and movement data for plan execution, deployment, employment, mobilization, sustainment, and redeployment of forces. Formal schooling encompassing FDP&E related doctrine, policy, procedures, MAGTF and joint command relationships.

MAGTF and Joint Operational Planning and Execution Systems (JOPES) will be provided to Marines entering this OccFld. The enlisted personnel in this OccFld provide the technical, automated system, and advisory support to staff plans officers in the areas of force deployment planning and execution, requirements, force resources, plans analysis, report retrieval, force location, phasing data, and electronic conferencing.

This involves data entry maintenance, and manipulation of force data requirements. The enlisted MAGTF planner assists in initiating force deployment planning, plan validation, and import/export plans between the various force deployment planning tools.

Enlisted plans specialists are assigned to the S-3 at the unit level and the G-3 Plans/G-5 staffs to support the many aspects of force deployment planning and execution. MAGTF planners are to be readily available to support component force, Joint Task Force (JTF), JOPES cells, and Commander-in-Chief (CINC) joint force deployment contingency planning staffs.
