Marine Ranks

The Marine Corps functions so effectively and efficiently because of its extreme organization. At the core of this organization is the Marine ranking structure. Rank not only lays out a clear chain of command, but rewards US Marines for their time and duties performed while in service. Recruits receive their first rank upon completion of basic training and are then awarded additional rank throughout their careers as US Marines.
